Our client is a leading European bank based in Luxembourg offering Private Banking, Asset management and Investment Fund services. Our client has offices in Europe, Asia, Middle East and South America.

We are looking for a Head of Business Development team who will be in charge of developing Investment Fund services for third party clients.


You will define and implement a development strategy for the Investment Fund services business line:

  • Manage and organize sales teams so that they are adequately positioned to develop client opportunities in the Luxembourg financial community and abroad.
  • Keep informed about legal, regulatory & tax environment and identify potential opportunities.
  • Keep informed about the competitive landscape, relative market positioning of the bank and identify positioning opportunities or challenges.
  • Ensure that sales tools (brochures, documents, presentations, etc.) are in adequate shape to provide Investment Fund services solutions.

You will manage a team (15 people) composed of Business Developers, Client Relationship Managers and Customer Service for existing Third Party Clients:

  • Represent Investment Fund services business with existing clients and participate in high-level client meetings when required.
  • Identify systematic service gaps or other client relation issues and address them with the respective department heads and fellow Executive Committee Members.
  • Participate in the identification of areas for improvement of service delivery and ensure adequacy of delivery.

You will have a P&L responsibility related to the Investment Fund services business line and you will be part of the Executive Committee:

  • Participate in Asset Management and General committees to represent Investment Fund services business, interests and positioning.
  • Contribute towards group-internal training and help raise awareness and allow other group parts to cross-sell Investment Fund services business.
  • Represent Investment Fund services business in the Luxembourg and international market place through participation in conferences and events, acting as speaker, and contributing to working groups or committees of industry associations.
  • Ensure that new service proposals meet the profitability requirements set forth by the Executive Committee.
  • Ensure that new business remains manageable and relatively smooth to implement.
  • Monitor the cost of teams and contribute towards the reduction of cost through avoidable frictions.



You have a professional experience of 10 to 15+ years in Investment Fund services related business.

You are graduated from a Master’s degree or equivalent in finance or law.

You have always demonstrated excellent negotiation as well as presentation skills, both written and oral.

You have strong relationship building skills.

You have excellent communication skills in English and French, verbal and written, any additional language is a plus.
