Our client is a leading European bank based in Luxembourg offering Private Banking, Asset management and Investment Fund services. Our client has offices in Europe, Asia, Middle East and South America. We are looking for a Head of Organisation & PM department.

Position

The Head of Organisation & PM department is responsible for on-going management to ensure that desired programme outcomes and objectives are delivered. The person must have adequate knowledge and information about the business and the programme to be able to make informed decisions.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Managing a team of 5 Project Managers.
  • Ensuring an appropriate programme or project management framework, management of the “Program Board” and reporting to the Executive Committee.
  • Preparing the programme brief, project initiation documents or equivalent and business case among other documents.
  • Appraising options and submitting for approval.
  • Securing resources and expertise from the internal organisation as required, for example, appointing professional advisers to support the project sponsor role.
  • Coordinating and directing end user input.
  • Coordinating value management strategy.
  • Determining and managing risks to the programme.
  • Managing the programme budget, including risk allowance.
  • Coordinating and fostering teamwork.
  • Establishing formal reporting arrangements on programme or project progress.
  • Establishing a mechanism to ensure regular dialogue with contractors to promote problem solving, team working and risk sharing.

Profile

The Head of Organisation & PM department should be able to:

  • Apply quality management principles and processes.
  • Manage a team of 5 Project Managers and report efficiently to the COO & to the Executive Committee.
  • Apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders within and outside the programmes.
  • Be aware of the broader perspective and how it affects the on-going programmes.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program or project management including a people management background is required as well as a Master level or equivalent.
  • A native level of French and a fluent level of English are required.
