Our client is a Family Office managing Real Estate in several European and non-European countries. With AUM exceeding one billion Euros, our client is managing huge investments related to Real Estate projects. Luxembourg operates as the European leading financial and legal entity. Our client is currently looking for a Chief Legal Officer who will support the Executive Committee in managing the whole legal structuring.


The Chief Legal Officer acts as a “one-stop shop” for the Shareholder and Executive Director of the Family Office in Luxembourg in terms of all European legal matters.

The CLO will work autonomously (with limited external advice) to provide legal support for all intra-group operations involving the Luxembourg and other European companies with the Family Office Luxembourg domain.

The CLO provides legal support for all transactions with third parties and partners involving the Group companies and/or the Shareholder – autonomously or, where appropriate, with assistance of external legal, tax and other consultants, appraisers, etc…

He/she will perform legal analysis of contracts and other documents, prepare internal memos on legal matters; in case external lawyers/consultants are engaged, act as a single point of contact and control the quality of their services.

The CLO manages external lawyers/attorneys engaged for litigations and related matters.

He/she autonomously maintains all corporate documentation on Luxembourgish companies (corporate resolutions, amendments to constituent documents, incorporation and liquidation of companies), and manages the maintenance of corporate documentation on other companies within the EU domain through the local corporate administrators/fiduciaries/lawyers.

He/she develops and implements the succession plan and mechanisms for the succession of business and personal assets of the main Shareholder; ensures maximal legal protection and relevant tax regime in respect of the wealth transformation at succession to heirs.

He/she interacts with external corporate administrators of non-Luxembourgish companies with the EU perimeter (Spain, Germany, Cyprus, Ukraine, UAE, offshore jurisdictions), including the drafting of contractual and corporate documents on transactions involving those companies; controls the quality of services of external corporate administrators.

The CLO maintains the legal documents archive (electronic and paper) on the assets and transactions within the Family Office Luxembourg domain.

He/she reports to the main Shareholder and Executive Director of the Family Office in Luxembourg.


A Master degree in law is required.

A relevant legal counsel background of at least 10 years with a set of experiences in corporate and contractual legal matters, preferably within an English working legal framework.

An excellent knowledge of Luxembourg corporate and civil law, knowledge of real estate regulations is a plus.

English and French languages: professional level.

Able to handle multiple tasks, willing to take responsibility for achieving the established goals.

Leadership, integrity, ability to express opinions and able to drive challenging projects.

A professional experience in real estate development / property management is definitely an asset.
